Meaning & Medium Meet

Jenn’s art transforms the familiar into the extraordinary.  Realistic imagery is fragmented into bold, dynamic compositions, inviting viewers to reimagine what they see. Her work deconstructs precision and craftsmanship, particularly in her focus on luxury wristwatches and their intricate internal movements. Gears, dials, and cases—symbols of humanity’s attempt to measure and control time—are reinterpreted as vivid expressions of color and texture. These objects are broken apart to reveal time as a fluid, ever-changing force rather than a rigid construct, encouraging us to view it as something alive and unpredictable.

Much of the inspiration for her work comes from urban life, shaped by her experiences living in cities around the world. Bold lines, layered textures, and unapologetic energy of graffiti and street art in places like New York City and Reykjavik infuse her work. This influence is especially evident in her paintings of nostalgic objects such as turntables and Walkmans—icons of hip-hop culture. These pieces honor the music and movements that have defined her artistic voice, blending realism with the raw, expressive spirit of the streets.

Her work is a fusion of contrasts: precision meets chaos, elegance meets grit. Each painting reflects the dynamic rhythm of city life—its energy, its stories, and its collisions. By merging the worlds of high-end craftsmanship and urban culture, you are invited into a dialogue between refinement and rebellion.

Though primarily focused on painting, Jenn has also explored black-and-white photography. A medium seen as a complement to her vibrant canvases. Photography allows a way to capture stark contrasts and quiet moments that balance the vibrant chaos of her paintings.

Ultimately, Jenn’s work is about challenging perceptions and celebrating the unexpected. By deconstructing familiar objects like luxury watches, she invites viewers to look deeper into the fragmented and to embrace the interplay between structure and spontaneity. Her art asks us to look closer and rethink our understanding—not just of time, but of life itself.
